LAJU PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI RUMPUT LAUT (KAPPAPHYCUS ALVAREZII) DENGAN METODE BUDIDAYA YANG BERBEDA DI PESISIR PANTAI KECAMATAN MARE KABUPATEN BONE
The market demand of Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed is high, making cultivators produce quality seaweed in a short time. One of the factors that influence the production of K. alvarezii seaweed is the cultivation method. This study aims to determine the growth rate of seaweed (K. alvarezii) with different methods and to determine the production of seaweed K. alvarezii with different methods. August 14, 2021, located in Batukaroppa, Usto Village, Mare District, Bone Regency. This study aims to determine the growth rate and production of K. alvarezii seaweed using different methods, namely the long line method and the off-bottom method. The study was designed using a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 2 treatments with 6 repetitions. seeds per bunch were used with a distance of 20 cm. Furthermore, water quality control is carried out, including: measurement of temperature, salinity, pH and Dissolved Oxygen (DO) with details of water quality parameters ranging from 28 to 30°C, salinity 30 to 35 ppt, pH 6.5 7 and DO 6.1 8.0 mg/l. Calculating the specific growth rate (daily) once a week during the study with details of the average growth of K. alvarezii in each treatment, namely the long line method 3.5% and the off-base method 2.9%. Each treatment of the variables to be observed was analyzed by t-test which was processed using the SPSS program. Based on the calculation of the final results of the study, the average absolute growth amount for each treatment showed the long line method of 148.3 gr and the off-base method of 121.5gr. The results of the analysis of business profits are Rp. 215,325 with a benefit cost ratio (b/c) value of 1.01 and a payback period value of 2.2 or to recover all investment costs it takes 2.2 times the period, which means this seaweed business is feasible to continue.
